Spring 2026 Internship – Media & Viewership Analytics

Position Summary

The Media & Viewership Analytics Intern supports the Business Intelligence and Media teams by assisting with analysis of audience, viewership, and media distribution data across collegiate sports and esports. This role is designed for an analytically minded intern with a strong understanding of the sports and sports media landscape who can help interpret media performance data and support strategic insights related to broadcast and streaming distribution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze viewership, audience, and media performance data across linear and digital platforms

  • Support aggregation and cleaning of media datasets (streaming, broadcast, VOD, concurrent viewership)

  • Assist with building and maintaining viewership models and benchmarks

  • Calculate key media metrics (average and peak viewership, impressions, reach, frequency)

  • Compare media performance across events, properties, platforms, and time periods

  • Support QA and validation of media datasets and analytical outputs

  • Assist with translating media analytics into charts, tables, and client-facing summaries

  • Document methodologies, assumptions, and data sources used in media analyses

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in sports management, sports business, marketing, communications, analytics, or a related field

  • Strong understanding of the sports media landscape (broadcast vs. streaming, rights holders, major networks and platforms)

  • Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets (advanced formulas, aggregations, pivots)

  • Comfort working with structured data and performance metrics

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret quantitative outputs

  • Interest in sports analytics, media analytics, or audience measurement

Preferred but Not Required

  • Prior internship or coursework related to sports media, broadcasting, digital media, or analytics

  • Familiarity with viewership metrics (CCV, AMA, reach, impressions)

  • Exposure to Python, R, SQL, or data visualization tools

  • Experience working with dashboards or reporting tools
