CSMG AND NATIONAL COLLEGIATE HOCKEY CONFERENCE PARTNER TO EXPAND AND ENHANCE CONFERENCE’S MEDIA RIGHTS
Integrated sports company to provide premier NCAA Division I men's ice hockey conference with comprehensive media valuation, strategic positioning and negotiation advisory services
STAMFORD, Conn. and COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — October 1, 2026 — CSMG (Collegiate Sports Management Group) and the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) today announced a partnership that makes the company the exclusive representative for the commercialization of the conference's media rights, including linear television, streaming, digital and mobile platforms, across the NCHC's ten member institutions.
CSMG will conduct a comprehensive valuation of the NCHC's current media ecosystem, benchmarking viewership, subscription and engagement data across the conference's media partners, including NCHC.tv, to establish a data-backed valuation framework for the conference's media and digital assets. The analysis will incorporate a full review of existing media and distribution agreements, institutional and conference-level performance trends, and an assessment of emerging linear, streaming and direct-to-consumer distribution models.
CSMG will then translate those findings into an actionable media strategy for the NCHC, advising the conference on distribution pathways, content packaging and revenue models ahead of its next rights negotiation window. The engagement builds on CSMG's growing media rights practice, which has supported conference-level media agreements for the Summit League and Unisun Sports this summer.
"With eight national champions coming from the conference in the past decade, the NCHC is as elite an athletic conference as any in all of collegiate sports, and we are proud to partner with them to help them unlock the value of their media rights," said CSMG Chief Executive Officer Michael Schreck. "The media landscape for collegiate conferences is more complex, and more valuable, than it has ever been, and we look forward to working with the NCHC to provide a data-driven media strategy that will help the conference and its members connect with the largest audience possible."
“CSMG brings valuable media rights expertise, strong industry relationships, and an understanding of the NCHC and our passionate fan base,” said NCHC Commissioner Heather Weems. “Their knowledge of evolving platforms and technology will help us explore ways to expand our reach while delivering a quality viewing experience. We are approaching this process with an open mind and working with our membership to establish shared priorities for our next media agreement. We are excited to build on our league’s success and provide fans an exceptional NCHC hockey offering.”
CSMG advises institutions, conferences and commercial partners on media rights analysis, sponsorship valuation, naming rights strategy and revenue optimization. Its analytical framework is designed to address the evolving media landscape and expanding commercial ecosystem surrounding collegiate athletics.
