Mr. Schreck has established a distinguished career in sports management, entrepreneurship and media, marked by his role as the chief executive officer and co-founder of Collegiate Sports Management Group since 2014. Under his leadership, the company was founded with a mission to help sports properties (initially college conferences and universities) maximize exposure and generate revenue from underutilized assets. Recognizing that many sports properties lacked the infrastructure and expertise to fully commercialize their media and sponsorship opportunities, Mr. Schreck assembled a team that negotiates local, regional, national and global media deals across television, OTT, streaming and mobile platforms, enabling its partners to achieve revenue and exposure growth.

Mr. Schreck and his Co-Founder Ray Katz were instrumental in bootstrapping the company from inception and are the driving force building the multimillion-dollar business. Mr. Schreck's role includes; collaborating with his management teams on departmental objectives, working with investors/shareholders on capital and growth initiatives, traveling extensively to meet clients across traditional sports and esports verticals, and developing business strategy across multiple operational areas.
A hallmark of Mr. Schreck's tenure at Collegiate Sports Management Group is the creation of May Madness, an intellectual property he launched more than five years ago as the national championship for scholastic gaming in the esports community. Developed from the ground up, May Madness has become recognized as the premier competition where college gamers aspire to win a national championship. During the COVID pandemic, Mr. Schreck leveraged industry growth and his extensive network to further develop this event. Most recently, he announced its expansion into India, marking its first global reach and solidifying its influence in international esports.
Since 2018, Mr. Schreck has also served as an investor and advisor for multiple growth companies and startups, providing guidance on capital raising, business development and strategic planning. Additionally, he has contributed to academia as an adjunct professor in sports media and entrepreneurship at Manhattanville College since 2018. In 2020, Mr. Schreck began coaching youth basketball with the Ridgefield Basketball Association, where he supports player development while fostering teamwork and discipline among young athletes.
Prior to these roles, Mr. Schreck held several key positions at Westwood One, formerly CBS Radio. From 2011 to 2014, he served as the senior vice president and director of corporate sports, overseeing radio and digital programming for major properties including the National Football League, National Collegiate Athletic Association events, the Masters Tournament and the Olympics. Under his leadership, top-line revenue grew from $40 million to over $100 million.
Mr. Schreck's earlier tenure with Westwood One, from 2010 to 2011, saw him as the vice president of sports sales and marketing, where he was responsible for driving sales strategies across national sports properties. Between 2006 and 2010, he served as the director of sports sales, his first role with the organization. Mr. Schreck began his professional journey in sales with the New York Mets from 2003 to 2006, focusing on ticketing, suites, hospitality and sponsorships.
At the outset of his professional journey, Mr. Schreck pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Science in communications with a minor in sports marketing from State University of New York at Oneonta in 2003. Beyond his education, he credits his success to continuous learning, a value instilled in him by his father, who taught him the importance of accountability, relationship building and presence in every aspect of life.
Mr. Schreck's civic involvement is extensive. He serves on the board of Tiger Hollow Inc. and contributes as a coach for the Ridgefield Basketball Association and the Ridgefield Travel Baseball Association. In addition, he supports fundraising initiatives for cystic fibrosis through the Boomer Esiason Foundation and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Throughout his career, Mr. Schreck has received numerous distinctions recognizing his professional excellence. His achievements include the Power Players of College Sports Award from Sports Business Journal in 2019, as well as honors such as Best Salesperson of the Month and Best Salesperson of the Year at both the NY Mets and Westwood One, respectively.
Outside his professional endeavors, Mr. Schreck cherishes spending time with his family and traveling both domestically and abroad. He also enjoys attending Broadway shows, exploring new cities, participating in sports activities and reading.
Looking ahead, Mr. Schreck aims to make a meaningful difference within both his community and business endeavors by creating opportunities that add value and foster growth. Through his esports initiatives, he seeks to provide thousands of college students with opportunities in competitive video gaming while supporting college enrollment efforts and encouraging students to pursue STEM and STEAM disciplines. Mr. Schreck remains committed to elevating himself and others through education, mentorship and youth sports coaching.
